Foil-faced polyiso has the same high R-value as fiber faced polyiso and has a reflective (silver) backing on both sides. They have high vapor impermeability, which makes them highly preferred for application in damp areas or where there is possibility of rain driven moisture.
Common Applications
- Behind radiant tubing to reflect heat back to the warm surface
- Damp basement walls to prevent moisture absorption and possible mold creation
- To retain heat inside (when left exposed in interior/basement walls)
- Under exterior siding (with air space created by strapping) to reflect summer heat and save on cooling costs
